What makes
a great
contestant
These aren't requirements and there's no scorecard. But after twenty years of casting game shows, here's honestly what makes us stop on an application and read it twice.
- A personality that fills the room. Loud is fine. Quiet and hilarious is also fine. What doesn't work is careful. Big feelings play on camera; polished ones don't.
- A real reason you want it. "It'd be fun" is true for everybody. Tell us what winning would actually change — the debt, the trip, the person you'd bring, the thing you'd prove.
- A story worth telling. One good story about your life beats a résumé. The odd job, the weird hobby, the family rivalry, the thing your friends always make you retell at dinner.
- Comfort on camera. Not experience — comfort. If you can talk to a stranger like you've known them ten years, you'll be fine under the lights.
- The ability to travel to Los Angeles. Most of our shows tape here. If you're picked, we'll talk through dates and logistics with you before anything is locked.
